Item ID: AEP-114
Enclosure Designation: Meridien
Threat Classification: PATH-3
Adaptive Enclosure Protocols: Association personnel embedded within the Japanese government's health sector are to notify Site-72 for any AEP-114 related deaths before enacting 'MERCY' Protocols. Death records of the terminated subjects are to be falsified to conceal the existence of AEP-114.
All AEP-114 instances were destroyed. No Adaptive Enclosure Protocols are required.
Description: AEP-114 is a pathogenic virus artificially engineered by GOI-9948 ("Cult of the Pure") spread to the general population of Japan. AEP-114 specifically affects subjects who had committed a murder prior in their lives. How this was possible remained unknown as all known AEP-114 in existence were destroyed by Mobile Containment Team-657 when GOI-9948 attempted to detonate an explosive material loaded with a weaponized AEP-114.
It was also unknown what goals do GOI-9948 wished to achieve with their utilization of AEP-114 but part of the documented doctrines discovered from their hideouts were "worldwide culling" of some sort in an effort to summon a hypothesized Threat-5 entity.
Addendum: Its existence was already known to the Association through the notification of implanted Association agents within the health sectors. Repressive efforts in neutralizing GOI-9948, and eventually, AEP-114 only came to fruition when the opportunity presented itself in the form of a former member who have surrendered himself to the authorities. Association agents intercepted the whistleblower in order to be interrogated.
As soon as all necessary information was gathered, Mobile Containment Team-657 was deployed to the known hideouts of GOI-9948. After quelling the resistance put up by the Group-of-Interest, MCT-657 investigated the hideouts and learned that a handful of members were dispatched elsewhere to detonate explosives with a weaponized AEP-114.
MCT-657 immediately intercepted the persons of interest and successfully neutralized them, as well as the stash of AEP-114 from their hideouts and the weaponized iterations of the object.
